Anybody installing fender flares ....read this
I'm currently in the process of repainting my 86 truck which I did about 8 yrs ago. Back then I put on warn fender flares. I installed new fenders and a new bed back then. On the rear I covered where the screws came through the bed lip with a big glob of silicone(underneath on top of the lip). This is what the rear looked like after removing the flare from 8 yrs. My seam had some surface rust which I just sandblasted.
This is the front ....no silicone. Those big spots of rust is where the screws went through the lip. No silcone.
Just thought I'd share to anybody installing flares.
