Any thoughts on missing...

Here is an interesting problem --

I just rebuilt my 3vze - everything new. New Plugs, Wires, Rotor, Cap, O2 Sensor.

All vaccum lines hooked up properly.

Idle 800 rpm - Timing 10BTDC with jumper attached.

It idles like a dream. It accellerates nicely. Seems to run nicely at mid-higher RPMS. But under a load - at low RPM's Say a steady 40 mph -- it seems to be missing - or running roughly. It's got me thinking....

Anyone have a clue??

Well, this may sound stupid, but maybe it's all in your head. It sounds like you have covered everything! Maybe it's just because it's under a load, and... well who knows, but if it only seems to be missing or whatever, and it doesn't seem like it's really a problem, I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like you have everything covered. How does it feel like it's missing? When my old truck was missing... boy was it missing! My friend thought I was messing with him by letting off the gas and stomping on it very quickly and letting it off again, but it really was just me trying to drive normally. It turned out to be the plugs, wires, etc. (I had a 5spd so it was very noticable). Anyway...

Actually, it ran nicely before I had to rebuild everything due to a head gasket It replacement. It kind of lurches back and forth like it is missing or something - only at very low RPMs under a load - such as at about 40mph when it kicks into Overdrive.

I'm going to mess around and test the TPS and associated stuff today.

If that doesn't work I'm going to haul it up to the stealership for a diagnosis.
