Any info on Remote Start for a 2000 4Runner?

Hey all -
My wife has always wanted remote start and I thought I'd suprise her for her birthday. Any info about how I can add this to our 4 runner would be appreciated.

It's a 2000 SR5, 4WD, Auto transmission with the VIP RS3200 Plus security/keyless entry.

I was wondering if:
A) Toyota offered a remote start module for this
B) Do I need an aftermarket
C) Can I do it? I can install car stereos, fog lights and basic electronic stuff
D) Should I do it;^)

We would love to only have 1 remote when we are done (not one for the doors and one for the remote start)

Any other info would be great
Rook

Not sure if Toy made one.

If you do an add on unit to the Toy system, you'll have two remotes (unless there is an unused EXT function on the Toy alarm), but it also need to disable the shock sensor for a RS so it doesn't set it off.

The best solution IMO is to get a DEI alarm that has a RS built in. These are $250-300 installed around here I think. I have one, and the alarm/RS has been perfect. If you have never installed even a simple alarm, doing a RS yourself might not be a good idea. There are alot of wires to connect (to do it right, these should be soldered), plus if you smoke the brain by hooking something up wrong, you'll be out the cash.

If you are hellbent on doing this yourself, talk to Ralph . He'll hook you up and guide you in your decision on which model.

You should do/get this done though. I've had mine for about 3 1/2 years and it has been great - cool car in summer, warm in winter. My wife drives the Runner as her DD,she loves the RS.

Sorry for all the babblin'
