I know there are guys on this board who have done so. You might want to do a quick search for HID on 3rd Gens as well. Here's a couple threads on it that I found when searching:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...HID+Conversion

Post some before and after pics when your finished. Good luck!

thanks for the search rock slides, but ive seen that in the past and the bi-xenon not a good idea for me due to time and patience. however having the high-beam is pretty critical sometime and ill just have to live w/ a low-beam.

hey ebelen1,
was his setup similar to mine or what?

ill be sure to give some details abotu it w/ pics.

Iceman did the retrofit w/ Mercedes parts. I'm not familiar w/ all the terms but he cooked the headlights, pulled them apart and inserted the Mercedes "part" that houses the HID bulbs. PM and find out.

Yea I have tried the casper shields with the D2R and D2S bulbs and still wasn't happy with light pattern, it still emits some glare. The setup I have now uses E55 Bi-Xenon projectors and Hella Ballast which gives me a clean wide spread pattern with no glare and still have functioning high beams. I can provide some pics of it later if you want.

I've heard guys say the best way to go HID retrofit was w/ Bi-Xenon.

Iceman601, I'd like to see some pics when you get a chance. Maybe some low and high beam shots as well to see the light spread.

I've thought about doing the conversion, but always found another mod to do instead.

i modified the casper shields, still too much glare. need to do some more tweeking. it will glare like mad with no casper shields.the e55 or any other hid projector setup is the only way to do it safely.
