and on some Runners it looks better than others.
Of instance, My step dad has an 02' Sport Edition 4Runner in the Thundercloud color and for his I would do all silver or gunmetal accessories, black would never touch his rig IMHO.
Ever since I wanted to get a 4runner I always wanted a Dark colored one.
Originally A green with beige interior to sort of remind me of the olds I had, but I couldn't find one.
I didn't want to do black cause of heat issues and safety (with all the trees and what not roads are dark and getting broad sided would not be fun...)
So I went with the Anthracite Metallic color.
And I always said to myself that I would do whatever color I got (that was dark) and black theme.
So I would like to do that, I am just trying to convince mom.
I am also in the process of trying to convince step dad to get a lift and an ARB powder coated to match his 4Runner, but it's 4 years old has 135K and he was talking some sort of nonsense today about maybe trading it in later (when he said that I about died)
So again it is all personal preference and maybe the color of the rig.
Granted I could go more chrome, but the bling is just not my style, I have always like the dark side...

Dude when it come to my Tess, I notice everything.
Same With Runner, Step dad i think is getting tired of me talking his ear off about every little thing that is different between his 02' and my 97'
On the topic of step dad and 02' Runner, anyone know where I could get the Sports Edition Emblems for cheap, I want to put them on Tess eventually.
(something new, I haven't seen anyone put the Sport Edition emblems on a Anthracite Metallic color before.

The lack of hard reflections in the front window originally makes it nearly impossible to "tint" it believably in PS. For what it's worth:

Also with black wheels:

Again, I'm an OEM guy. Just having fun with Photoshop.
Why would anyone want to paint the 2 parts of a vehicle most in need of being durable? Bumpers and wheels take more abuse than any other exterior part of a vehicle. If you want black wheels, go buy black wheels. If you want black bumpers, buy black bumpers or have some made. More expensive than paint, sure. But I consider painting bumpers a waste of time, effort, and money if you're just gonna replace them the right way down the road. Add to that the fact that it looks like you get out and have fun with your truck. You will ding up both bumpers at some point, at which time the fact that they're just painted will be even more apparent. As for the wheels, everyone under the sun knows what these wheels look like as OEM. If you paint them, they will look like just that: painted wheels (= cheap looking, IMVHO). The only way black wheels could look halfway decent is if you buy a set of black wheels.
But that's just my VERY humble opinion. Do as you wish.

Your "Tess" looks very similar to my own unnamed vehicle. When people ask me the color I like to be a smart ass and tell them it's Anthracite Metallic. Most people don't know what anthracite looks like.
