another VSC/ Trac question--

An excellent attempt at baiting...
In response, Thanks! I do all my own work as do many of the people on this forum. There are all ability levels here and those who don't know what they are doing yet, learn from those who know which end of a wrench to pound on. It's a nice, friendly place and you get back what you put into it.
But, you contradict yourself. If this place is so full of people who don't know what they are talking about, why did you even bother to stoop so low as to ask for help here?
Don't let the door hit you in the @ss on the way out.
Hell, who am I kidding? I am not picky about where the door hits you.

I checked out WATRD's ride long ago on his webpage. Awesome truck, clearly the product of someone who knows what to do, and who knows how to get something done. As for a simple axle swap, is there really such a thing? The only simple axle swap I've heard of is solid axle to solid axle.

Gen 4 runners are a piece of crap and waist of money. My 33 year old Land Cruiser will never die. I'll see you on the trail, but not in the mall runner. That flimsy POS cant be further than a stones throw from the stealorship. -Dustin

I'm sure most of the 4th gen owners use them as daily drivers, like myself. As such, I'll take a 4th gen over a 33 yr. old LC any day when it comes to daily driving. If you ever find yourself hydroplaning in the rain on the freeway at 70 mph or slamming on the brakes because a 5 yr. old kid chases a ball out into the street in front of you, you'll be wishing you were in the 4th gen, and not the 33 yr. old LC. As for piece of crap and waste of money ...
get real.

Wow this thread went to the dogs real quick.
Kudos to you guys who helped the new guy out!
Justin:
Thanks for the laugh. "Did you do any of the work yourself?"
If you spent even a little amount of time reading and looking at other posts critically you'd know that there are a lot of people here who certainly know their stuff. I don't know Rob personally but reading his posts and cruising through his site I know he's forgotten more about offroading than you probably know. That's definitely the case for me!

Dustin,
Pity your attitude just went downhill. This is not pirate or any similar board. I would have stepped you through the normal diagnostics, but experience has taught me that 90% of the time it is the simple things first. We could also have given you a cheat way of resetting the DTC, but you would rather insult people. Oh wait, most of us dont know the difference between a piston and an oil filter. So why ask the question then on this board???
Since the 4R is such a POS, how much do you want for it? I'll give you $2k for it and you dont have to deal with the electronics.

Eng, Vsc Off And Vsc Trac
2002 4 RUNNER: VSC OFF VSC TRAC and Check Engine lights on. I disconnected the possative battery cable, waited 10 minutes reconnected cable..... Lights all gone... 0$$$
easy fix... I believe problem was due to over filling the gas tank. This caused the emissions sensors to malfunction which is why the Check Engine light came on, and in turn caused the VCS lights to come on.
