Another "3rd Member" question, from my earlier thread

I'm searching for a used, in good shape, 3rd member to swap out of my 97 Limited 4x4 4Runner. I would assume that all 96-2002 V6/Turbo 8" diff / 3rd Members will be interchangable with the same bolt patterns, etc........right?

Would any pre-96 V6 4Runners be interchangeable with my 97? I went to car-parts.com and searched and came up with a range of "Differential Assemblies" from years 1988 to 1998. I called about a 1997 4.10 ratio 3rd Member, just what I needed, and they sold it. It would be nice if I had more options to choose from than just searching for a 1997 Diff assembly. Any help is appreciated.

If yours does use the standard 8" v6/turbo diff I have a low mileage 4.10 ratio one sitting around that needs a home. Look up toyota differentials and there are a couple of websites with good pictures that you can compare yours to. Is yours the e-locker version?

Awesome! Here is a pic of what I have: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/Images/Diff6cyl.jpg

No, it's not an e-locker. What are you asking for it? I'm VERY interested, if the price is right. Email me at avl3006@gmail.com to discuss details. Thanks for the reply and will be waiting to hear from ya.

Since you don't have an E-locker, anything from 88-02 4Runner and 88-95 Truck V6 4.10 will work. Even if it has the ABS sensor in the diff, just cut the wire off and ignore the sensor. It will still work.

Tacoma, Tundra, T100, and Sequoia diffs will NOT work.
