Just wondering if anyone has used, or is familiar with, the Amsoil Engine Flush product....http://www.amsoil.com/products/aef.html

I was considering using it when I change my oil next time. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks fellas-

I used it with my oil change around 70,000+ miles, when I switched to synthetic. I've never seen such clean engine oil for the following months & months to come. I feel the Amsoil Engine Flush worked very well for me. I give it a thumb's up.

I used it when I switched to Amsoil. I run the oil for a full year. I really wanted to test the oil, but could not get the test kit without some hassles. I placed an order with a local dealer, so I'll test in in 2004.

You just pour it in, like oil. (It's thin) Replace the oil cap, and run the engine. I forget how long...15-30 minutes? Kill the motor and drain. Be careful, the oil is a lot thinner now and still hot. It will wanna shoot out. It's probably a good thing to do even if you're not going synthetic.
I just installed this...it will take care of the messiest part of changing oil since I do it myself. Also, I plan to test my oil, so sample taking will be cake.

Cool, thanks Butnut. I'll probably go ahead and order a bottle up here later tonight. I'm changing my oil in a few weeks, and will probably run it through the system then.

Anyone else have any comments on the Amsoil Engine Flush? Gadget? Corey?

 

I too used the flush the first time I used Amsoil.
And I might add here that the last time my oil was changed was probably last spring, and the oil looks brand new still.

Getting ready to change it soon though.

I wasn't aware that you could drive so many miles on synthetics!

Does the 3.0 appreciate them and what kind of mileage do you get out of an oil change?

Amsoil engine oil is guaranteed for 1 yr. or 25,000 miles between oil changes. But you will want to change the oil filter every 3 months or so to keep the oil clean. Don't forget to top it off when you change the filter...

 

Hey ravencr, I'm pretty sure it was the 'All Models' F103. Shoot them an email to confirm. It's real well designed/built and endorsed by Toyota too. I drive my 2000 series Amsoil the full year. Put about 24K on it. The recommendation for that oil is 6 month filter change and top off. I do plan to have the oil analyzed the next oil change...just to be sure.

I use it every oil change. I run Amsoil Series 2000 so I do a complete change every 6 months( I know it is a such a short interval but I like to be safe). I think it helps but I have had Amsoil in it since it's first oil change @3000 miles

 

March is my 6 months with Amsoil so all I need to do is change the filter. I am going to order the testing kit from Amsoil. If I can get enough oil out during the filter change, I'll have it examined.

I used the engine flush also. Amsoil recommends doing it and it is no big deal. Pour it in, run for 15-20 min, empty out. The only drag was when I attacked the oil filter, the oil was hot and flowing free (ie: very messy).

Ya, I spent the summer working in a garage in SC, and let me tell you, I was a big fan of doing oil changes in July. If I wasn't burning myself on hot oil, it was on hot filters, or exhaust manifolds, radiators.....yada yada yada

I have a 95 4runner 3L...

I have a slight rear main leak.....


My question is- I have heard that switching to synthetic on engines with leaks will cause the motor to leak more....

Is this true?????


Also, Can you add additives to synthetic oil without screwing the oil up (ex. AMSOIL)??? An additive such as stop leak....for ex.
