Alignment Necessary?

I got an alignment back in March when I got my new wheels and tires put on. This past Sunday I cranked up the coils .5" to help with some rubbing in turns. When I had them installed they were set up just to even out the front to the rear stock height. The .5" has helped immensely wiht the turning rub and other annoying things that make it rub like hitting a dip to fast.

Now I have no more rub but am wondering if the .5" is enough that I need to go have an alignment.

I am pretty sure even something that seems small, like half an inch, will require an alignment.

I could be wrong though, someone else chime in

Not sure myself, but my guess is you'd see uneven tire wear, not necessarily much pull left or right since you did the same thing to both sides. Just depends whether a normal alignment is accurate to within less than a half an inch, otherwise an alignment would be a waste of money.

Just do a quick chalk alignment check one line across the tire (each tire) and then drive around the block. come back and if the chalk line has faded evenly then you know you're a ok if not then adjust accordingly.

i've also heard (rumors) that sear's does alignment and it's a lifetime thing (dunno but though I'd mention that to ya).

I got a lifetime alignment from Firestone for $135 and in three months I've had it re aligned twice so that's about $100 of it right there plus anytime I go off roadin' I figure I'll get it done again every few months just to be sure.

Places here in OKC will do a free check for you. Then they charge $50 if it needs an adjustment. I am lucky if I can get a 6 month warranty, you guys are getting lifetime?
