Alarm Disabling

Okay...I have been investigating previous threads regarding this issue and haven't quite seen what I am looking for.

I am trying to disable the sound portion of my factory alarm and keyless entry. I want the theft deterent (passive) system to be on when I lock the car...

I just don't want to hear about it everytime I lock or unlock the car. Likewise I don't want the lights to flash either.

My manual doesn't cover it...and the Toyota dealership in Montrose, CO looks at me like they don't even know what an alarm is.

I know this is a programming issue, does anyone know how do it or have done it?

What year is your 4runner and what alarm system do you have?

Check out my write up and download the manual (pdf) :

Bob
2000 Runner...with the standard 3 button keyless entry. I'll check out the site.

BOB...

I don't believe I have the RS3000 because mine is a 3 button keyless (1 button for the back window) not the 2-button pictured there on the site.

Does anyone know which model came on the 2000's...so I can dig around for the programming manual?

You probably have a RS3200.

My lexus had a simalar system and I just went down to the dealership and they turned the beep off for me. They had a name for the programming options but I can't remember right now..

Toyota should be able to help you.
