My oldest hands me wrenches, but he gets easily distracted, so it's a little too much work to get anything done. For now...

See my runner is green and if combined with yellow= mello yello.
Hey Cebby, when your paint start to fade then switch to yellow and give them four coats, don't forget at least three coats of primer and two coats of clear coat. I baked mine in the oven for two hours with 170 F.
Well I guess I have to stick with the OEM bolts since I can't get stainless.
Hey you know what I do if my son get distracted. I always called the wife for assistance, and I always get that look "it is not my job" Oh well.

Stainless Bolts
Hey 4x4CPOSEADOG,
Try checking at lowes in the hardware section.
They have some bin boxes with metric and standard bolts. They sell them 5 to a pack so you will have a couple of extra ones. I picked mine up from the lowes in Newport News. I welive they are M6 sizing. Just take one of yours in, and since they dont have a thread checker, open one of their packs of m6 nuts and try it. Stores that sell bolts and nuts always complain about open packages, but its their own fault..
Of course they had the bolts but were out of the washers so I went with 1/4 stainless washers. Slightly big but not too big.
That color is sharp and thanks for the size of the holesaw so that I can cut the hole out of my caps.
I will be painting mine when it gets warm.
GREAT JOB!
Mike

Bolt Size
M6 is correct. The thread is 1.0. I got 20mm bolts, but the Toy ones are about 18mm. The 20's worked fine. (FYI - 19mm=3/4")
Mine looked so bad, I changed them in the parking lot of the fastener distributor!

Back to the top for an old thread...
Well, two winters have not been kind to my hub paint job. The outer ring has been beat up from having the wheels off multiple times and the front rotors replaced since going to the manual hubs. The dials concern me, because they look just like the paint "peeled off" (after a year and a half!!). BTW, I never "baked" the paint on in the oven...
Well, as luck would have it, an old friend of mine now has the ability to powdercoat. Has anyone powdercoated the dial parts? I know I'd need to mask the inside somehow. I'd think it would hold up pretty well.
Any thoughts?

I was chattin with him a while back and I don't think he did....too much trouble. He'll probably let you know for sure here in a bit. I was talking to him a while back when I got my hubs. I was thinking about powder coating, but just sprayed 3 times and baked them....they look great so I'm just gonna see how they hold up.

The newer 96+ come as you see on the right, black and silver. I matched the face to the rim color I'm using on one set of wheels then blacked the bolt, and re-silvered the center. I don't think the black nuts will hold up to long.
