Air filter ?

Air filter ?
I purchased a 97 4Runner with a 3.4L engine. It has a K&N FIPK performance kit on it . My question is can i take just the filter off and put the air box back on with the K&N pipe or do i have to change the pipe also? I want to use the Amsoil filter like i have on my other cars.

You want to use the FIPK piping with the stock airbox? IMO, sell the entire FIPK and make a few bucks. Then, a lot of us do the 'deckplate mod' and then just drop in the amsoil filter.

Run a search for deckplate and you will get tons of info.

Now, to your question. You might be able to connect the tube part of the FIPK if it looks anything similar to the Airaid MIT dimension wise (which I doubt). Here's a link to some pictures. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...ight=2000+mods. I think your best bet would be to buy the Airaid MIT (http://www.central4wd.com/store/itemdetail.asp?ID=9438
) and a stock airbox from a salvage yard.
EDIT: THEN OF COURSE FOLLOW THE LINK ABOVE AND DO THE DECKPLATE MOD.
