when you do the door panel inserts, first remove the panel off the door it makes it a lot easier. Then do a dri fit first, meaning stuff them into the door and see where you need to cut it. The only tricky part I found was when reinstalling the door panel was the place where you pull the handle to open the door. You have to cut the foam correctly here b/c it slides back int place kind of offset from what it appears to be. I'm sure I'm not explaining this very well ...... uummm dry fit the door, then when your cutting the foam/leather for the door handle release test it out first by putting the door panel back on the door. and then you'll see what I am talking about. .. hopefully.

oh when your doing the headrest don't try too stretch the leather over the headrest, instead bend the headrest in, one side at a time and squeeze them into the leather.

also if you've ever considered getting seat heaters this would be the time to do it, since you already have the leather off.

 

I'm almost done, just gotta do the back half. I dont need to use the glue because the kit came with the actual replacement inserts with plastic backing meaning i just take out the old door panel insert and replace it with these ones, I guess they weren't kidding when they said this is a dealer option. I'm very happy with the results it looks so much better and color matches perfectly. Seats are a LOT firmer and it has so much more lateral support now. . I dont think I'd want to put down another $150 for heated seats since it never gets that cold around here and my truck is always garaged. I used hog ring pliers and hog rings and did it by the book. Wrinkles from shipping will straighten in a few days or more cuz it's winter. only part i have to glue is the bottom door handle below the inside door knob, the long C looking thing that snaps in. Doors are gonna be easy so tomorrow i'm looking at about 4hrs for 1 back seat and door panels. I'm gonna take it to my brother in law's shop to have him do the cutting, glueing, and fitting since tinters are better at it.: I'll post some pics when i'm done tomorrow hopefully. Thanks for all your concerns And about the headrests. They fit like a factory. No slacks or wrinkles! not like the ones i returned before(if you recall my last post bout a year ago)

Sorry but I'm not completly done, I'm done with the seats but still have got to do the doors. I've done an initial fit over the door panels. and I just found out that my digicam is broken....sux but i'll find a way to get those pics up.

Let's just say....that I wouldnt do it again. But for saving $6-700.00 for installation was worth having 2days of sore hands. It is not a hard install, pretty much self-explanatory but it is VERY time consuming and requires patience. To me the door Panel was the hardest part because it does require a lot of detail. I didnt take any pics of the install itself so no write up from me I wanna take a REAL pic but i'm too lazy to go get some batteries for my digi cam. If anyone plans to do the install, you're welcome to ask questions. all and all I think it was $400(+30 for tools and etc.) well spent, wouldnt you say?
