Post ADDCO REAR BAR - 4th generation

I just received and installed the latest iteration of the rear bar for my ’02 4Runner. I told them when they were making this one to shape it so it will also work with the TRD catback exhaust, which means that they should contour the center yoke bend as close to the differential pumpkin as possible.

Well, it fits fine with the OE exhaust system, BUT it is a fraction too close to work well with the TRD system. However, it can be made to work by grinding the tailpipe flange material on the side closest to the bar to a 45-degree angle. I know this is hard to visualize but if you were to run a vertical line perpendicular to the ground up to the installed exhaust flange area, that angle would be the amount of material to remove from the tailpipe flange. It will not hurt the integrity of the system. There is still a chance that the bar will gently kiss the flange under very rough road conditions and perhaps more adjustments to the shape of the flange will make it work without interference, but I am happy with how it works. I am now trying to find stainless M10 x 40, 1.25 pitch stainless steel bolts to replace all the exhaust system flange bolts, but thus far have had no luck.

Ever since Addco moved from FL, their IQ level has gone down significantly. They are all nice people but dumb but very incompetent. To top it off, they are prone to telling tales to cover up for their ineptness… like when they told me they powdercoated my latest bar. I don’t think you can do that with a rattle can.
