What is the suspension travel of the TRD Tundra springs up front vs. 1999-2000 4Runner Francs. Front set up?

The same. The trucks a-arms determine the travel. The point of the Tundara springs is you save money.

Tundra Coils: 120
Revtek Parts: 75

4Runner Coils: 120
Cornbred Spacer: 120
Revtek Parts: 75

Basically you save 120 bucks for the same thing. Less spacers and more spring is a good thing. This is just another way to build up what I have with the 4Runner coils.

What is popular in the aftermarket is irrelevant. OME 881's are popular. They are way too stiff.

Your point is?
Popular meaning those are the most commonly found springs on that particular vehicle. It's irrelavant, i'm just thinking out loud....

Thanks-
Did I read in this thread that you are in the design stages of your own custom spacer for the Frankenstein front end, b/c of the change in the cornbread spacer?

That's right. Steve will be offering a metal spacer set that will take the place of the Cornfed 1.5" spacer, Revtek Longer Studs, and the Revtek Top Out Spacer. It will be a single unit that will replace all of the above. This will be used with 99/00 4Runner front coils to get 2.0" of lift.

I am developing a Top Out Spacer and Stud Set that will go with the TRD Tundra Coils to give you 2.5" of lift. Both will be sold on Steve's web store. He and I are going to partner up and offer a solution in the $150 range for those of you who already have the 99/00 4Runner coils and for those of you who don't or who would rather have more coil spring rate, then there will be an option for the Tundra TRD spring spacer for about $75.

Andy-

Please keep me updated. I'm going to wait to do any suspension work until your parts are finished.

Thanks

I know the 1.5" spacer+ longer studs+ Top out spacer gives 2.0" of lift on Steve's 4Runner with the smaller engine.
Is this set up going to be effective in giving the same amount of lift to a V6 Supercharged 4Runner with a heavy bumper and winch?

EDIT: are you asking about 4Runner coils or Tundra coils?

If 4Runner coils: Absolutely not. Me and you are in the same boat.

I have a V6, TJM, Warn M8000, and heavy skid plates. I am considering trying out the Tundra coils with the option of adding a top spacer. Maybe even Sequoia coils would work.

Andy got 2.5" (he has v6 and ARB bumper) with 4WD tundra coils and 3/8" topout. After his coils settle from the winch, ill bet they drop close to 2".

I guess we are still waiting on part numbers from various sources so the process can continue.

The weight of the bumpers is pretty much a wash. Your stock bumper and crush bar weigh almost as much as the TJM/ARB. It's adding the winch and SC on top of that is what you will feel. For a v6, I would suggest the Tundra TRD coils. A new post with all the CONFIRMED info will be coming by the end of the week with all part numbers and sources along with initial measurements AND measurements after 750 miles.

I have a Limited (leather and sunroof), V6, Auto, 4WD, ARB Sahara Bar, M8000 Winch w/ Steel Cable and Roller Fairlead, and a 2nd Gen Supercharger. I still got ~2.25"-2.5" from the Tundra TRD Springs and top spacer.

I have a 90% confirmation on coil numbers, but I want the 100% confirmation from the receipt. I did find out that I have the 2WD Red TRD Bilstein HD Struts. These are softer than the regular Billies at slow imapcts and stiffer at high speed impacts - similar to the OME N91's.

My question was in regard to the 4Runner coils. I bought a set of '99-'00 4Runner coils a while back to build a "Franks" front end. I'm wondering if I should try and sell those coils and go with the Tundra coils, OR use a thicker top-out spacer with the '99-'00 coils that are sitting in my garage? I really only want about 2.0" of lift b/c of CV issues. Maybe SteveS. will chime in with his advise on this issue.

I think you should follow the old formula and use the 4Runner coils and NOT change the spacers.

The weight difference in engines is so small it really has no bearing, the 4Cyl 4WD coils and the V6 4WD coils have done the exact same thing on my 4Runner, exact same weight.

WE NEED THE TUNDRA COIL PART NUMBERS?

What's the hold up? All this data is useless if you can't reproduce it?

Anyone, anyone?

I tried to confirm the part # s 48131-af100 and 48131- af090 from what a local perts guy and I could read on the computer this is for a 4x4 v8 trd equiped Tundra. I would still like for someone else to validate this. The parts guy could not understand why I did not have a VIN # to make his life easier. Jacque

I hear you brother. We don't have VIN's because we have 4Runners. Which is why the part numbers are vital.

Yeah pulling up in a Tacoma asking for Tundra parts was way beyond comprehension for the parts dept. The guy looked at me like I THREW A SPIDER ON HIM! Jacque.
