ABS Ring Position on Shaft

I have my rear axle shaft taken off right now, after slipping out and hitting a curb last winter. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the ABS ring should be positioned on the shaft. Does it butt right up against the snap ring, or does it sit some distance away from the snap ring?

Thanks!

Sorry, I typed this up late last night and was a little vague. I've got all the parts off the shaft and want to put them back on. Unfortunately, I didn't take note of their positions, so I need to know if the ABS ring goes right up against the snap ring or should it be positioned a few mm away from it?

It's a pretty iffy implementation by Toyota here. Generally speaking, if you have pressed on components, it would be really nice if they'd all sit together. Add some spacers if needed. But no, Toyota just has air gaps between various pieces.

I was briefly trying to google up a nice picture that shows them, and how large they are, but couldn't find anything that wasn't confusing. I'd just suggest at this point pulling out the other side's axle and using that as a guide.

When my wife had a machine shop put a new rear wheel bearing, at a machine shop right across the street from the Toyota dealer that the Toyota dealer said they send a lot of their press work to (presumably, including ABS equipped 4Runners?), they pressed everything together. Which set off a frustrating, infuriating month of oil leaking, brand new seals being yanked out and replaced, etc, before discovering that goofy air gap setup.

It 'floats' and is meant to be in the middle of the ABS sensor hole (or thereabouts). Pull your sensor and look through the hole while test fitting the axle shaft.

Here is my right one after the last seal change...
