99 Limited Need Front Mud Flaps

Title says it all...I removed the running boards on my 99 Limited last year and I'm getting a sand blasted effect on the rocker panels. Any suggestion? I have searched and searched. Just bought some Highland Contura's because they claimed to fit the 99 Limited with flares, but they don't fit at all. Any ideas?

Partsgeek has rubber or aluminum diamond tread. They are universal fit (or don't fit) though. At $14 for the rubber ones they may be worth a try.

Rumor has it that Tacoma mudflaps can work. Apparently two of the mounting holes line up with 4Runner fender lining screws, with a need to cut into the mudflap for a third screw.

I have no first hand knowledge of this, but it's a topic I return to from time to time in anticipation of installing sliders. If you try this solution or find another, please post the results. I'll do the same when I find a solution.

What is the part number of the Highland Contura's? Is it 11051. I believe that is the model that fit with one minor trim needed on the pinch weld at the bottom.
