99 4runner progress page...
stole the idea from rocket, tryin to help get more third gen pics out there. .
before i was even interested in wheelin'...

then went on my first wheelin trip with 4rnr and a few other people at badlands in attica, indiana.
removed the running boards.....

went through a stream there and became worried that a diff breather was the next feasable option, so found bob's write up and went to town. ran the breather out the gas cap with the gasket left in tact..

after the trip to badlands, i realized i needed rocker panel protection as i scratched the bottom of the panels pretty good going over a steep hill. trail gear sliders is where i went. 135 shipped, made gussets and scab plates my self and "4rnr" welded them up for me!!
its dirt in the pic and not unpainted scag! (only one i have)

door sill clearance:

after that i installed a cobra 19ultra III cb and a wilson 3ft. antenna. ordered the firstick hood mount kit and again used bob's write up to bend and mount it to the rear hatch. no pics of the cb but you can see the whip in a few pics to come.
then i got a brush guard for pretty cheap. i know there are many opinions that one should not waste time with these and should go with a arb or tjm (even those are a heated debate on which to buy!) but i like the way it looks and after all, thats what matters!

couldnt stop there!!! so to conclude my progress as far...."SATOSHI MOD" was next on my list. i took my time with this mod more than anything i have done in quite a while. i Love it and think that it is the coolest thing ever. i have yet to see one anywhere around me so when people see it, they want to know where to buy it!!! so for now, im a one off in the area...

now the brush guard needs some touch up paint and some lights, just havent figured out which ones i want to put there (if any). i will be moving to hawaii for a few years and wil be taking the runner with me so i will wait for the lift and tires until i get out there so i make sure it is functional for the area. if you have suggestions, please say them, could use fresh eyes.

Nice looking ride!!! I like your manik brush guard. Thinking of one of those myself, just need to figure out who to take it to so that they can cut the ends off and just leave the push bumper.
I don't need protection from errant shopping carts, just want to get a more rugged look with the push bumper.

brushguards are fine, just dont wheel with one.

I think I have heard of 3 piece Manik guards, maybe older ones...Just don't know the model and most of the "pictures" of the new stuff are only representative. Not what I want to use to decide. If I had a part number and knew what the part looked like, I would get that part.
