99 4 Runner Limited HELP

Hey guys,

New to the thread as well as toyotas!

I finally had the chance to pick up a 4 runner for a great price and after a little bit of work its back up and running.

I am now a proud owner of a 99 4 runner limited 4wd.

Now for a few questions that I am sure has been asked 1,000 times.

I want to do a 3 inch suspension lift and upgrade tires. I want to find the perfect balance between work and play. (I plan to drive it 15 miles round trip per day to work and adventure off during the weekends here and there)

My question is:

Just how big of tires can I fit with minor/no trimming?

I really do not want to regear.

I am not to worried about the loss of mpg.

I really dont want to spend a ton in rims, would rather put it into the vehicle itself. I am even open to steel wheels.

Any pictures of similar set ups would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Check out this thread, it should help.

Also there is a ton of info on this, you just gotta look around. But to answer your questions, you could fit 285's, regearing would depend on your current ratio and if being slow doesn't matter to you, and steel rims will definitely take a hit to your mpg's.

Hope that helps,
Brian
