99-02 Headlight upgrade

For those of you that have done this on the 96-98 4runner did you get your lamps off of E-Bay? Or did you buy from the dealer? I am looking for a good deal but I don't want cheapies either.

What do you think the difference is between his and these? Besides the price difference.

Has anyone bought these off of Ebay? Looking for any feedback that I can get.

Got mine from ebay as well. Just had to adjust the beam pattern. I also ordered some rock protection from Sticker City.

Here are some links:

I got 2 feet of this which covers 3 headlamps. Which is good because I had to redo the first application.

Should I do the clear 99-02 OEM style lights or the Black JDM versions?

I like the black JDM's But I don't know how it would look with the color of my truck. Also I will be getting a TJM soon and possibly Hammer finishing the grill a Darker gray that matches the sliders and wheels.

Here is my Runner.

Yeah, I am kinda leaning that way. If I had a darker truck I think they would look good.

Do you mean you put 18w lights in the side markers?

I actually think the 'JDM' ones would look good on your runner. However not really sure how good the quality is though. Maybe you could ask the member that has them.

I have heard the quality is good from what I have read in other posts. Maybe someone will chime in that has them.

I think those "JDM" ones are just stock ones that have been taken apart and painted and then re-glued so buyer beware. As far as I know true JDM versions look like the same as what we get. The black version is just to capitilize on the "ricer" scene and it works. I like them but the cost for just looks keeps me from buying a set.

I ordered my new lights yesterday. I decided on the clear OEM style and not the JDM style.

Pics soon.
