98 22r conversion

I want to convert my 98 toyota tacoma from the ÅÅÅÅty 2.4 dohc to the oldschool 22r can anyone tell me what im getting into a little advise could make or break my desicion basicall what will bolt up and what will not

it wont work, theyb are not the same engine. they are completely different

you can do it but why? you would need a tranny from a 22r truck and some fab work

That is funny. I would like to go to the 22re. Of course you have a third generation and you want to go back to the second. Hmm, will that make you flunk DEQ?

not to mention that the 22R/E has less power and torque than a 2RZ-FE or 3RZ-FE and probably gets worse mileage...

it'd be like putting a 305 in a 2005 chevy
