Hello, can anyone tell me if a automatic transmission from a 96 4runner would be compatible with a 2000 4runner? Both cars have a 3.4 V6.

There should be a blue tag on the side of the transmission that will give you a model number. If the model number matches, its good. I had to replace mine a couple years ago. The transmission at the junk yard was out of a 97 but the model matched. Been in for 3 years/40k miles with no problems.
