96 4runner hot start problems

My 96 4runner runs and drives well, but when the weather gets warm, it has a hard time starting. It cranks over fine, but no fire. I just keep cranking and it will fire up with in a minute or so..What could it be..The engine is a 2.7L and it has 160000 miles on it...The check engine light used to be on, but it reset with a tune up...It still comes on with the key before start up...Any ideas?

Thank you for your help...

Well, for the 3.4L, I would probably advise checking the idle air control (IAC) valve and clean it. Not too sure about the 2.7L...but, it might be something to look into.

Heres a writeup for the 3.4L

Thank you for this information... This happened the other day when I drove the rig and then stopped for a few minutes at home and then tried to start it again..Lots of crank just no fire..I will clean the IAC and see if it happens again..For sum reason It only mainly occurs when the outside air temp is 85 degrees or above...Someone also indicated that the O2 sensor might need replaced... SC4runner....Is this a common problem with Toyota???

Thank you again for your information.
