96-2000 4runners owners who have put in 01 tails or altezza's. Read
I have a customer with a 2001 4Runner who purchased altezza's from Burtman Industries. People with 2001-2002 4Runners would need to get the 96-2000 4Runner wiring harness to make this work with a clean install, since Toyota changed the wiring harness on the newer 4Runners.
The customer put the new wiring harness in and connected the ground (it's all plug &play), but she blew all the bulbs after she hooked it up in both tails. I'm not sure what would be wrong since everything is plug and play.

I did basically the same thing on my 97 when I got the 2001 tails, I put the new harness in and ground, and everything was fine, see here:

Does anyone have any advice for the customer???
As far as I know the 96-2000 harness only hase one part # and others have done this with no problem.

Sounds like somethings not wired correctly or one of the positives is hitting ground somewhere. Blowing out the bulbs and not the fuses sounds pretty serious though.
Time to re-check the wiring and connections.
