94m 4 Runner OBD II code reader needed

Toyota fans:

Which code reader do I need for the 3.0 V6 94 model engine?
Who has one at the best rpice/quality match?
I know how to do it with the T1-E-1 jumper wire. Do i really need one?

just use the jumper wire and count the blinks as per the haynes manual. You don't need a code reader for this truck.

correct. i did this for my old '95 pickup. works quite well. the system is much more primitive than OBD-II, but doesn't require a fancy computer to read codes.

OBDII 96 +

A typical OBDII scanner will not work with an OBDI.

The only way to get the codes without a high dollar scan tool is to jumper the diagnostic box under the hood.

So, OP only needs to invest in a paperclip
