94 4runner Newbie
Hello everyone! I am new to the forum, so HOWDY!
Now, with that out of the way I have a quick question. I am buying a 94 4Runner SR5. What are some of the "must have" mods you guys would reccommend? It will be mostly used on road, with the occasional mild 4x4ing. It does not have a roof rack for some reason, and I assume I should add new rear springs. (been reading through the forum! ). So what is the best deal/place to buy a roof rack and or rear coils online?
Thanks guys!
This is a fantastic forum! I have already learned a lot about my (soon to be) New baby!

Welcome to the board ej.
Check out this post on where to get Downey coils from.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...ghlight=Downey
There are other coils out there that members have here such as Performance Products, and OME.
Look in our Vendor Links section for links to their home pages.
The OME gear can be had through www.4x4connection.com
I run the Downey HD coils, and I am very pleased with them.
As far as must have mods.
1. New rear coils.
2. Manual hubs up front, ditch the ADD.
Look through some of the hub posts here for more info why you should say no to ADD.
3. Good shocks.
4. Many more, and feel free to check out my homepage and look in the mods section.
Roof rack, you could get factory rails, but that limits how much you can carry up there.
Many go with Yakima or Thule cross bars (Yakima for me) and then bolt on a basket to the cross bars.
Here is my rack setup.
We are glad you are finding the forum here useful.
One last think...run your VIN # at a dealer and find out what has been done as far as TSBs and recalls.
There are many old posts here that go into depth on the 3.0 head gasket issue.
If you qualify, you could walk way with a new engine.
I did before I bought mine.
