86 pu suggestions

I have a 1986 pickup 5spd 2wd in near mint (good for a 20 year old truck) condition with 69k miles on the original 22re i have a 3" body lift with Liberator A/Ts 235 75 15 with american racing wheels should i put a solid axle up front and lift it again and put some 33s on or should I buy a cheap ride w/ 4wd and mod that ill post pics soon

The front frame isn't beefy enough to make it worth putting a drive axle up there, I don't think.

actually, with the exception of the transmission(you need to do a tranny/crossmember swap to convert to 4x4) it's supposedly easier to convert a 2wd truck to 4 wheel drive than an IFS 4x4 to a straight axle 4x4. the reason is the frame on a 2wd truck has about the same amount of arch in the front as a straight axle pickup, which leaves more clearance for steering components.

the frames are pretty much the same strength-wise.
