Quite possibly, but I think I lost the email where Steve offered to let me run a set in return for free advertising.

I _know_ that the spray pattern on these isn't optimal. I talked to Gordon (WitchHunter) about it for a while - he had some ideas (and the tools!) to play, but I needed to get them into the truck.

WOW that's rich!

The richer thing with MI has always confused me... The methanol will boost the effective octane rating which allows for more timing advance which is where you get your additional power from, but I've never been clear on how it affects the A/FR. I figure it'll make it rich, but...

Yeah I guess I should pull the fuse on the WI pump for a test run and see what it does to the A/FR.

Ok guys I've got some supercharger questions so I'm digging up an old thread.

I have an 02 tacoma with 2nd gen blower and I just got the URD 7th kit with the AFR calibrator built in.

My main question is pertaining to the AFR calibrator. I don't see how to tune it.

One map is for control of the additional injector and one map is for retarding timing.

How is the AFR being "calibrated"? Furthermore, the pink w/blue striped wire is only tapping onto the AFR signal. It is not an inline connection. It does not appear to be intercepting and modifying the original AFR signal. I am confused how this AFR can be working.

Without it you would still have the same 2 maps (AIC and timing) and I could see the ECU fighting with the AIC map over time. But the AFR calibrator is supposed to be the magic fix for this. How do you adjust the AFR signal?

Please help.

My AFR calibrator was seperate from the FTC. On mine I had to take the cover off to get to the serial plug. I cut a hole in the cover and ran a serial cable to the plug so I could easily connect up to it later. I have yet to mess with adjusting it though. It came with a pretty good tune already.

The URD AIC/Timing Calibrators w/AFR uses a fixed programmed version of the URD AFR Sensor Calibrator. Being fixed programmed it is not adjustable.

This was done to save cost and simplify installation. This preprogrammed mapping of that option is only for the 5vz engines.

You are correct, the control wire only taps into the signal wire of the AFR Sensor.
