Ya thats the 4runner set up pictured there. I'll just order the Tacoma air tube and go from there.

Just purchased my snorkel yesterday from fatbobsgarage.com. He had the cheapest price I could find at $315, I saved about $40 over 4x4connection. I still have to purchase the Tacoma air tube. Hopefully I'll have it by next weekend, I'll be taking some detailed pics of the install, including the connections inside the fender wall. I've read several threads where people are looking for pics of that area.

the younger 3rd gens had the taco sleeve included and connected from factory, i'm pretty sure that excludes 2000 but pull your well liner down and take a peek for yourself

Any chance that my 98 would have the taco intake? Are they any comparison pics so I could check?

Thanks

Lots of good info, have to admit I never heard of the Taco whip antennae mod though. Guess it's just the standard type antennae, time to search.

Question about Snorkels...my friend just did his, in his 99' Tacoma. He went with the Safari Snorkel. Is there anything 3rd Gen 4Runner specific? I can only find Tacoma - Land Cruiser - 88-95 4Runner's. Nothing seems easy to acquire for the 3rd Gen 4Runners when it comes to some mods....compared to Tacoma's and Land Cruiser's anyway....when my me and my friend compared fenders....the body line was a little different then the 4Runner's.....does this have any effect on the installation?

Nope. The Tacoma Snorkel will fit on the 3rd Gens. The only thing you will need to get is a Tacoma intake tube for inside the fender well. The part number is listed above somewhere.
