Hi all I'm new to this forum because I just got a 98 limited 4runner and need some help when I ran across this forum. I have a few questions and was wondering if anybody could help me out. The car I got came with 3 keys but no keyless remotes. I dont think my car has keyless entry or an alarm because there is no security light indicator thing on the dash but I thought keyless entry came standard on limited 4runners? Can somebody clear this up for me and also tell me if keyless entry only with no alarm even has a security indicator thing? Also, how would I find out if my car has keyless entry installed? Just in case my car doesnt have keyless entry, does anybody know what the part number for the rs3000 for the 4runner and does anybody know programming instructions for a 98 4runner? The only ones I can find online are for 99 and up. I know I'm asking alot of questions but would really appreciate any input because this is kinda driving me crazy. Thanks!

 

On my 97 4Runner the indicator light was on the center console next to the e-brake handle. The control box was underneath the driver's seat. Maybe it's the same for 98's.

RS 3000 Instructions. . The quality sucks but you might be able to pull the info you need.

This is the link for the Vehicle Intrusion Protection Installation kit for a 1998 Limited 4Runner. A base kit is needed but I can't figure out which one you would need. This is the link for one of the base kits I found.

yeah i'm stumped on this too. i dont know if my runner has a keyless device installed too. but my dealer said that i did and i'm not sure if i should believe them or not.
