4Runner door pockets in a truck?

In another thread on here, someone mentioned that to fit their 6" woofers in the door of their 4Runner, they moved the map pockets toward the rear by a few inches.

Does that mean the map pockets are mounted with screws, or nuts and bolts, or some other removable means?

I have a 1994 2WD truck - very simple. And the doors have no map pockets at all, and I really miss having something - my last vehicle had an under-dash tray, map pockets, and a sliding drawer underneath the driver's seat. I don't need all that, but I want something besides just the glove box, for putting wallet, keys, maps, and other stuff I do something with each time I get in and out.

So here is the question: For those of you who have 4Runners, can you look at the map pocket mounting on the door panel, and tell me if you think those map pockets could be mounted on a flat door panel? Then I might go to a scrap yard and find some 4Runner door panels with pockets that I can then move over to my truck.

I'm more or less assuming that I cannot purchase just the map pockets from a dealer, but would have to buy the entire panel.

Thanks!

Dave

You must have seen my speaker pod page linked from my stereo page.

Looking at one of my pics here, I do not see why you could not add them.
They look like they would screw from behind.

They are just screwed in to the door panel I think - shouldn't be a big deal to make them work. BTW, Corey's rig is the one you are referring to. He's got a link to his site in his signature.

Yeah, that's it!!!

Cool, Corey, yours are the ones I had seen.

I'll be going on the hunt for door pockets, then, or complete door panels.

Also envious of your computer desk. You can see it.
