i can always replace the stereo.. i cant replace someones life..
whats to think about, very smart on his part. IMO
He is lamenting the fact that he had his 4Runner broken into...been there, it sucks. I was just curious as to how this turned into a lesson about how drunk driving is bad when it sounds like he never once considered it in his original post.

Stevo3...sorry about the second hijack in this thread.

I think we both were.....although it was in hindsight.
Since perhaps he could have tried to drive home (drunk) in an effort to thwart the theft of his car stereo equipment.

Ric that is the best way to look at it. I'd take getting jacked a stereo over a dui/dwi anyday. as i said earlier tho, im still pissed and glad at the same time that they only broke my deck and took my sirius. left behind the easier stuff to take. but broke the most expensive piece of equiptment

i have the strongest feeling that my insurance is not going to cover it though..... i have a 1000$ deductable and the stereo + the sirius reiever and car kit = out to about $1400... Which im thinking its not going to be worth it to make a claim and have my insurance jump. Ill probly be paying for that stuff again, out of my own pocket.

My insurance didn't cover my aftermarket deck. I just found out that i have to pay $5-10 more a month to cover all my aftermarket stuff. Plus I have to pay more to cover the glass.

yeah, a 100 deductible versus 500 versus 1000 was only about $50 difference each bracket, half the year I'm in an area with a lot of deer/vehicle confrontations, other half is in Flint, MI decent rate of crime/vandalism

Same with mine. It might be time for you to find another insurance company after this is done.

Naw, my insurance is awsome, and my agent is even better. It was my poor choice to do the 1k deductable. And my runnner was on the insurance for a weekend vehicle (7k miles a year) and my beretta was the daily driver, but as soon as i got my runner, i never drove the retta again... and that was over 2 years ago . What can i say, yota's kick arse!

was in and out of a supermarket and i walked out to someone in my car. he saw me and then ran to the explorer thats when i jumped on the step bar of the explorer and hit him couple of times.....then i see a minivan comming i jumped out at about 15 mph and then BAM the lady got tboned....they got away and i had to call an ambulance for the lady becuase she had a neck injury....im guessing the to suspects where illegal aliens in a stolen car. hopefully they find them becuase not only breaking and entering but a hit and run which is a felony....it just sucks becuase you can have anything nice anymore.....

As a young guy with a 'misguided' youth growing up in NY, I did alot of stupid smash and grab stuff. Now older and 20+ years later, looking back on that stuff, can't believe I was the same person. If it happens to me now, it's karma I suppose....but I'll still wanna kick someone's azz. Sorry that happened to ya and glad they didnt take all your goodies
