My buddy now has a 94 runner with a 5 speed. we wants to get a newer runner. Do the 99-00 have 5 speeds? Did they come with that option. We have looked and every dealer dosnt have one. nor do they know if it came.

Yes, they have them. As the year increases, they get harder and harder to find. 00 was the last year for the 5 speeds.

It took me 2 months to find my 96 5-speed, and it was in San Diego.

 

I took my awhile too (99 5sp also in San Diego), but they do exist.

 

Pretty hard to find, but there are always a few available in the Salt Lake City area.
