My 2001 Tacoma won't come out of 4 wheel drive, had tranny rebuilt 2 months ago. Need to use 4 wheel drive do to snow, I pressed the 4 wheel drive button on shifter (auto mattic) and nothing. I get under truck to find electrical plug and vacum hose disconnected. I reconnect them try putting in 4 wheel the light goes on think on all set. Put pans back on light on dash is lit move forward in 4 wheel. Press button won't come out of 4 wheel. Never been off road 4 wheel drive only used for snow. Help

 

Since you found them disconnected, clean the connectors with some contact cleaner and then reconnect. Could be just dirt clogging up the signals.
