Hey Guys, new to posting on the forum but love following what ya'll do . My 2000 tacoma has started missing recently. The last 6 months my mpg wasnt over 20 and it was lacking power up wills, then last week after an hour drive it was running strong and seemed to just "give up". started missing so badly it would hardly idle fortunatly made it home (only 10 miles away) ran the code reader on it and came up with missing on 3 and 4 and random missing... its a non distributor motor. i picked up another 3rz off craigslist for 400 this weekend so ive got plenty of parts. do you think its the injector? spark plugs look good and wire look fine... side note at 3k rpm it makes a faint rattle in the engine... rod bearing...? kinda lost any help would be appreciated.

 

I just went through the same thing, mine turned out to be a bad plug wire, so swap the wires see if it helps if not then swap the coils, chances are its the coil pack. Do it seperately that way you will know which was the problem.

 

Very unlikely that 2 injectors went bad at the same exact time. I would guess it's coil related.
