3rz bad valves!

I have a tacoma with the 3rz engine,it has about 185,000 miles and the exhaust valves on the number one cylinder are toasted.still runs but like a subaru! I was quoted about 750 to pull head replace all valves and reinstall. Is that outrageous? Or is it hard to come by a good head? any advice here would be great.I am rather new to Toyotas...i have been on the opposite side with vws!!!
thanks,Tobias

i'd just get a valve job done on it. kind of strange that they'd burn, usually not an issue in today's vehicles.

Yeah Im learning about the 3RZ myself in my 4Runner, trying to find its traits, and strengths and weaknesses. How did you come to find out your exhaust valve was burnt up?? Im curious myself now.

You're a lucky man!!

If it runs anything like my STI!!

I'm suprised to hear about a burnt valve on your vintage. I've got that problem but it's at 270k. That price doesn't sound too bad when you think that some folks charge $400 to adjust the valves on a V6.
