The unlock function on the remote for my 2000 4runner quit working, so I ordered a new remote. Problem is I can't get the car to go into programming mode. I've followed the steps with cycling the locks and all that multiple times and still can't it to work. Any ideas??

 

If you can't get the programming instructions to work you're going to have to buck up and go to the dealer.
