3RD Gen Rear hatch/door won't open..

Bump, please. Mine does the same thing. It will only open if I unlock with a key from the drivers side door AND THEN hit the passenger unlock button ONLY with the keys still in the drivers' door. Talk about a vehicle specific quirk. You cant make this up.
