I have been contemplating this swap as well. However, after talking with Brian at FROR, their setup won't work on my rig (97 4runner) due to the fact that my speedo/odo only runs off of the wheel speed sensors associated with the ABS system in the rear. There is no plug on the t-case for wheel speed wiring. FROR's set up does not include the ring on their chromo axles to send wheel speed to the sensor (I'd love to know of some that do). If you don't mind not knowing how fast or how far you are going, and don't mind your "check engine" light lit up, I suppose it might be ok. As far as I know FROR's set up will work with any 8" with 60" axle width. If you don't want to source the extra parts, they do also have "chunks" that are complete axle/brake setups that you can unbolt your old setup and bolt in the new setup, bleed and go... to the tune of about $1,600

He also doesn't mention anything about what years of Toyota 8" rear axles that the product/conglomeration should work with. 'Course maybe no 3rd gen 4Runners have tried it yet, although it should be the same as a Tacoma.
