Check out this thread. It inspired me to pretty much put everything on my intake back to stock. I then pulled my EFI relay to reset it again. I was sold on cold air intakes, not any more. My truck runs better with the factory air box. Go figure....

That's because the stock intake is a true cold air setup. Go figure.

you mean with that wicked bend and tiny pipe on the fender? ya its true cold air after it travels so far and bends at the 90 degree turn.

There is a differance between low speed power, under 3000 rpms and high rpm power. The stock air box set up is best IMO for everyday driving. Yes, removing some intake restrictions can help deliver more power at high rpms. However, for the power I like to have pulling away from a stop light, I find the best set up is the stock box with an elbow mod on the intake between the air box and throttle body. Again my my opinion.

When I had the deckplate mod, my 4runner would be crazy fast at Wide Open Throttle but very weak at 1/4 throttle. I do not drive enought at WOT to justify losing the low end tourqe the stock box provides. I like stock box with airaid intake tube.

A lot of people have found that the stock airbox with the intake silencer removed is the best all-around setup. Including the 3vz crowd.

you know thats sarcasm right. I don't even know why your posting in here, you don't even own the same car or motor. wtf would you know about a car that you don't own.
BTW as an update, car has been steadily getting 450-500km, the latter from more highway driving. it is -6 celcius here. As soon as I get an actual digital camera with a flash, ill take pics of the engine bay/air intake setup
