3rd Gen Flex a lite question...
How much weight is dropped when swapping in the flexa lite?
I am curious, because after the bumper, and winch go in, I would like to ditch a few pounds to make up for the sagging.
Also how easy is the install? anyone with pics in the 3rd Gen? I saw Joey's in the 2nd gen... is it about the same?

To tell you the truth. They seem to weigh about the same. I didn't weigh the 2 different fans when swapping out but I did hold one in each hand and couldn't feel any differance. Here is a pic of mine on my 2000. I used the FLX-210b(blue). I bought mine from www.summitracing.com for about $225:

man I thought they would be a little lighter. That sucks:alien:
was it 225 shipped? and were there any extra hoses that are needed?
I really doubt I will do this mod now. Guess I figured since it took up so little room it had to weigh less!

Sorry to break topic, but does everyone who gets the flex-a-lites go for the manually operated fan? I want to get a flexalite mounted where my original fan is, minus the clutch to free up rotating mass for more ponies, but if the only way to get results is mounting a full on set like you have there, I'll spend 225 bones somewhere else.

The fans are almost dead-on equal in weight, but when you put in electric fans w/ the control box, it actually adds a little weight. If you want to cut back weight after the extra weight of the winch, my only suggestions are fender cutting (if it is just for off-road handling and you aren't worried about cosmetics.) or fiberglass fenders.
