A couple of quesitons:

Why the move towards the black rims, Keisur?

What is the correct backspacing and lug spacing on 16X8 rims for 3rd gen's?

I'm looking at a deal at 4wheel parts at 1000 dollars for 285/75/16 MT's on black rock crawlers- is that a good deal?

You know what it is? It's your driveway-- it makes your whole rig look smaller!

Hate to think what mine would look like if I parked it on your driveway.

Both of those rides are ˟˟˟˟˟˟ awesome. I can't wait until mods come available for my 4th gen. These two trucks almost make me want my 3rd gen back!!

cebby-
nah, i dont think ill be getting a body lift and 35s...i think that would just be too tall. not to mention, iw oudl have to regear, and while im at it, get lockers..so..it would be quite the costly addition

OK, I guess I'll wait for my chance with another sucker . I know the 33's probably seem small now, but wait until you have to buy new tires. Then you'll be happy w/ them, maybe even wish you had 205 - 15's.
Nice truck though!

By the way, where did you buy your reciever shackle from?

1. Because my rig is black. Idon't want no chrome at all. I wanted black ones to begin with.

2. 4" BS and are 6 on 5.5" bolt circle. My stock ones were 4-5/8" BS.

3. looks good to me, that's about what they quoted me before I switched to the PC wheels for about twice the price of the roack crawlers.

Hey Doink, thanks.

My black beadlocks (sims) are on the way. I missed the first shipment deadline, so they're coming by truck late this week. I'll make a damn Runner out of this thing yet!

Yea, those are some of the ones I was looking at because I really don't want to give 4wheel-farts my business anymore. Plus they plainly state that they DO fit.

I think someone asked them directly about them fitting on 4-runners, and they said it was a no go. I might be able to track down that thread someplace...

I remember that too, David. About 3-4 weeks ago I think. The thing I can't understand is that they have it in plain english on their site that they will fit. I guess one of us is going to have to call them up and verify it. I'll get on the horn at lunch and see what I can find out.

From Tom ("Mertzr")

Quote:

I had e-mailed Gary Wheeler to ask a few questions concerning the rims they have made, and here is his reply:

"Tom, we found a rim and center combo that when used together just clears the brakes on the 16" tacomas. The 4runners that were equipped with 16" wheels do have a larger brake setup than the tacomas and while I haven't tried it I don't think they are going to work for the 16" 4runner.

Thanks,
Gary Wheeler"

I guess it's time to think about either grinding on my calipers or swapping them out for some Taco calipers.

After the pan hard bracket, are you still not seeing any rubbing at all?
