30K Miles on SAW's, time to rebuild?
ok so like the title states, Ive got roughly 30K on my SAWs and have never had them rebuilt, i think they have sagged a bit since i got them because they are fully cranked and my CV angles are still pretty good. also when i drive over speed bumps they squeak pretty bad.
ive seen the write-up online for rebuilding, but was wondering you you guys felt it necessary for me to rebuild them yet? maybe even replace the coils themselves since they have sagged over time?

That's about how many miine have, maybe a tad more. I was planning on doing the rebuild in the spring sometime once I get all my tools up here from Houston. Have you looked at the write-up in the tech section? can't remember if he gave a recommendation in that.

he did his after 25k/1.5 years.

The only time I heard of the coils was somebody here on the board pulled there's and sent them in to SAW and let them service them. they came back with new coils, new heims, and new threaded bodies. I think they said it was like $300. I can't find the thread but I read it about 2 weeks ago here.
Maybe Mike (Xtreme) can get them for you. I think he can get the seal kits and any of the parts you may need. Make sure you post back where and how much and also parts and part numbers when you get all the stuff.

I am trying to get a stuck bolt loose as I work on doing my own rebuild (gonna find a guy with a tortch tomorrow). However, I called Sway a Way (to ask about using a torch) and whilst chatting I asked how much for them to do the rebuild-I was told about $100 labor, plus parts, which if it was just the seal kits was $50.
Good luck.

dont wanna send my C/O's to SAW because then my truck will be down for how ever long they take to get em back to me. I wanna just do this in an afternoon. Maybe Ill contact them and see what new coils will run and see if i can get something softer, yet keep the height...

Well, do you need to rebuild??
If you push up and down on the front bumper how many times does it bounce? If its more than 1.5 times then its time... if not, your shocks are fine and its your springs that are compressing. Good luck on having no down time. When I started replacing (not even rebuilding) my downeys it took a week and a half. Uah! I ended up cutting the shocks in half with a portaban and then using a 12ton press to get the darn things out, but we have two different setups. Good luck! I'd have a backup ride if you could because well, maybe its just me, but crap always happens and I need to go to the harware store or this place to get things back in order etc.
Just trying to help.... in my add sort of way

i think the SAWs need a rebuild because they squeak quite a bit, and while they are kinda soft, they are still in control. the ride hasnt suffered, but i think its time to rebuild them.

It is possible that you just need some shock oil and o-ring kit

ok well i talked to Mike at Xtreme, and he said coils were $50 each and the seals are $15 ea. and so i need 2, 1 for each side. and the shock oil i can get at any auto parts store or Camburg or some place like that.
i think my plan of action right now will be to replace the seals and the oil and see what kind of difference that makes, and if im still not satisfied i might just replace the coils.
