My wonderful husband got me a 3 inch body lift from 4crawler for Christmas

The pic shows the truck with 3 inch Revtek spacer lift, 3 inch 4crawler body lift and 37 x 12.50 Maxxis Creepy Crawlers (shot to heck, but they worked for the moment). The tires were only on temporary but they worked pretty good Rubbed just a little After about a week of only being able to get up to 50 miles per hour (tires out of balance and un-even tread) we took the tires off and put the 33's back on Waiting until tax time and then we will put some 35's on and maybe have enough for some custom bumpers

i can barely see anything that picture, those really don't look like 37s though.

3" body with 3" spacers on 37s....or even 35s? you're just asking for trouble

Yes, those are really 37's. Please re-read the original post The 37's were only on there temporary (like a week or two). They rubbed a little but it was nothing that we couldnt work around. Yes, 35's are in the near future (tax time) But for right now, 33's will have to do

have you not re-geared yet...just wondering b/c you said you could only get to 50 mph? but i'm sure it will look good with some 315s on it...

Thank you No, we have not re-geared yet. The tires are actually really really shot. They are out of balance and the tread is kind of un-even. So, when I would get up to 50 mph I had major wobble goin on We will probably re-gear in the future. For right now, with the 33's we have no probs

Thank you I really like it too. I wasnt too sure about a body lift either It may not be the best way to lift a truck but it works for right now

Body lifts work great with these 4runners.... and the looks are good too. The frames are up high enough not to cause an eyesore. Good Job!

I would re-gear with 35's. Wobble or not I can't see gas mileage or top speed being very good. Cool to see an IFS 3rd Gen on 37's though.

Why is everyone so against body lifts...? When on the trail I want a mixture of both body and suspension lifts. Suspension for travel and body to allow for bigger tires while at the same time keeping the center of gravity much lower. Not to mention its MUCH easier to work on etc etc...

The 37s might be OK in 2wd on the street but I would not use 4wd with them, especially on the trail. Even 35s will be pushing it and you will have to be really careful with the right foot. Those things are HEAVY.

before you allocate money to new tires (it seems to me like you have 3 sets as it is) i would go back and redo your suspension properly before upgrading tire sizes anymore. in lamens terms.....get those plastic spacers out of there!

Thank you for using lamens terms since I am "just a girl". My lift is just fine for what I use it for. Your suspension lift does not make your truck anymore capable than mine. The 3 sets of tires that I have (not that it's any of your business)...... the 37's in the pic were on there temporary because they belong on my husband's 83. The 33's that are currently on my truck are going bad and the 32's that I am selling are for 15's which wont even bolt up to my truck.

listen, don't get all mad at me because i offered you good advice, you signed up for a big boys forum and you got a big boy answer, i'm sorry if you weren't prepared but if you wanted only thumbs up post it on your myspace or something

and "not that it's any of your business"...come on, i thought we were all supposed to be mature here....in short, you will find that running vastly oversized tires on plastic lift blocks will eventually kill your ride, no matter what the application.

I dont think the "lamens terms" was meant to insult...but the "big boys forum" was pretty discriminant. This is a forum for everyone.

Personally, I'm not a fan of body lifts either, and I do think those tires are way too big, it's a good thing theyre temporary....I think a set of 305/70-16's would look great, maybe cut the body lift down to 1.5".

..but as long as you like it, who cares what I think? Haha.

I can't really tell how big the lift really is..I know the 37's are temp, but maybe re-post with another pic when the right ones go on. I run a 2in BL with a suspension lift too, both for a combo offroad and stuff applications..but I tell ya somtimes that baby leans. Did you have to do alot of modding with wires, and brake lines etc?? with the 3in.

I am really not looking to argue or be hostile. But to be honest, if I wanted advice, I would have asked a question. So, please dont tell me that I signed up for a "big boy forum" when I didnt ask a "big boy question". I was simply posting a pic of my truck with the new lift to show it off. I wasnt lookin for all thumbs up posts either. If you read the post that I placed a few spots up you will notice that I said "it may not be the best way to lift a truck, but it works for right now". I agree that a suspension lift is a better choice but at the time and for how I use the truck, the spacer and body lift combo works. The truck is not a hard core wheeling truck (yet). When I am ready to turn this truck into a hard core wheeler I will probably come back to this site and search and ask questions.

I hate when people knock 35's when they havent run them............. I Love the 37's my buddy ran them on his IFS Taco for like 2 yrs, no hardcore stuff, but mild stuff had no problem. I have been running my 315's for a year and i do hardcore stuff, I probably do more in my IFS with 315's then most do in there SAS with 35's and I can do 90 down the freeway with no problems. and don't rip about regearing just cause of 35's, you will want to yes, but it is not a necessity. unless you have actually done it keep your mouth shut about "I heard this one time.........." its nice to see another runner that could run with mine...
