Hello all, im doing a 3.4 auto swap into a 1988 samurai for a friend of mine. Plenty of experience with Ls swaps and such but this one is brand new to me. I have a donor engine and engine and trans harness/pcm. Im more or less doing the wiring from scratch. I've got power to the coils and the injectors plus other misc sensors. Just no pcm communication to fire them. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to get the pcm into the party? Normally on an Ls and similar swaps you just provide power to the pcm and switched to the sensors and it will fire over. Thanks in advance.

 

You would need the complete correct year model motor wiring harness, and in some cases the body harness and body ECU, you would want the complete donor vehicle to do this swap I would think, depending on which donor parts runner vehicle you are using it could also have the Immobilizer ECU, so you would need the original Keys as well that match the ECU, no key no go, you would need a new ECU with keys believe it or not. Maybe read over other more common swaps, lots of people put the 3.4L into earlier toyota trucks.
