I got my wiring harness from ORS (Off Road Solutions) for my 3.4L engine swap into my 3.0L 5-speed manual '91 4runner.

OK, After searching and e-mailing some people today, I've found out more about this swap. The 3.4 WILL bolt to the A340H.
Either ECU will control either transmission. There has even been swap where a Supra motor/ECU was used to control an A340H.
Someone used an A340 off a 2nd gen and blocked off the ports that controlled the hydralic tranfer case. Then a gear driven case was installed.
The A340 is used in MANY cars including Jeeps, Dodges, BMW, Chevy etc.
People in India swap Toyota engines into their Jeeps with this transmission.
Marlins site has some good info on this swap it just took some seaching the boards.
I think much of the confusion about this swap is most people (especially on Pirate) are trying to use the A340F with the gear driven transfer case so they can have dual cases. That takes some serious modification to the tail housing and an adaptor sold by Marlin. I have no use for dual cases so it should be a straight forward swap.

Please do it then if this is so easy.

Caskey did not endorse such an idea when last we spoke and I have a use for dual cases.

since i would need a body lift for this conversion, where do you think the best place to get one would be? Also what are your guys inputs on the downside of a body lift, and how hard is it to install?

Roger Brown at 4Crawler is the man for bodylifts.

It takes less than 4 hours.

1" will do it.
