2nd Gen yota 0-60 times...

heh, I guess the extra weight of the runners really makes em quite a bit slower than the pickups. mine would prolly do 0 to 60 in under 9 sec's if it wasn't undergeared (4.10's with 31's).

lol, well it does it in mid 9's now, so it's just a guess =p wish I could afford 4.88 gears and some 32's, but most likely the gears will always be 4.10's and 32's won't be on for another year or two.

I had two runs with a 96/97 2WD reg cab manual Chevy S-10 w/4.3L V6 and I was side by side the thing the whole time up until around 70mph. After 70mph, the Chevy started pulling away and I had no chance of catching up. Mines an auto BTW and this wasn't on a track so I don't have numbers.
IIRC Motor Trend magazine lists the '89 Toyota 4WD Pickup w/V6 and manual tranny quarter mile times in the 18-19's when the truck first came out. I have their report somewhere. It was their truck of the year too BTW.

digging up an old thread...
i have 31x10.50s on my 94 four runner. bone stock and it ran a 21.70 up here in the clouds at just over 60mph so i guess 0-60 and 1/4 mlie time are roughly the same. truck weighed in at 4600 lbs with me in it.

Thanks guys, you made me laugh so hard I almost lost my morning coffee! My 4Runner is in the body shop this week, and the insurance company gave me a Durango. The ONLY nice thing I can say about that thing is that it has quick acceleration (V-8). After driving a 3.0 for 8 years the Durangeo is fast, but other than that it's a dog. No wait, I don't want to demean dogs. I'll be so glad to get my 3.Slow back!

HAHAHAHAHA soooo true.
Speaking of dogs, or rather vehicles that demean them, a H2 came in with 45,000 miles on the odometer yesterday at CC. OMFG what a POS!! The door panels were looser on it than on my 256,000+ mile 4runner! The tires were all out of whack alighnmentwise, the interior was CRAMPED like none other, and it had the suspension characteristics of a brick.
Well it seems my truck isnt too bad right now....
I wonder what the 3vze would do with new heads, copper headgasket, BEEFY head studs, and a nice turbo with ~15lbs on it....lol That factory crossover may be beneficial after all!
