2nd diff drop and suspension lift

I plan on making the lift described in this page
http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsit...suspension.htm
And was just trying to gauge interest to see if anyone else wanted me to make the pieces. Otherwise its all for me

I'm going to be talking to some people this week. Anyone have any preferences? I was trying to decided between steel, aluminum, or rb lift material. Planning on using grade 8 bolts and maybe nylock nuts. Any requests, suggestions? I'll probably have some extra ball joint spacers if anyone is interested. Hopefully I can get this sorted fairly soon. I'll post pics once I get mine done and let you know prices.

That sounds good....I'm not sure on the type of material. I would think aluminum or HDPE over steel though. I'm not gonna need the sway spacers cause I took that mother off.

I think the ones praufet is making are thicker....there's also the diff. drop spacers that I would like to use for my cv's sake.

Speaking of thickness, does anyone have a general preference?

i would love a diff drop, but what goes into the installation for that? there wasn't anything on the site about install, i thought the diff was as far down as it could go.

but yeah the 1.5" bj spacers from sdori is what i have

I was thinking 3", but correct me if that sounds crazy. Isn't that what thickness the guy used that we're getting this from.....what are your thoughts?

In the article I linked to the guy use 25mm thick Al. That's about 1" for those of you unfamiliar with the metric system. Honestly I just have to see what thickness of Al I can find. Going home this weekend so hopefully a bigger city will have more options. I think 3" would be a bit thick. I could look at the front suspension and try and find out the max you could fit, but I think if you went too big, you could end up needing a longer spring among other issues. Also in the article the guy used grade 5 bolts for the diff spacer. I was think grade 8 because thats what roger used in his 3rd gen diff drop kit.

sorry, just read the top of the article and glanced at the rest. I'm new to all of this, but have been learning a ton......I haven't looked at the front suspension real close, but I assumed that's what the diff. drop was for is the fact that you're going over an inch and a half. If not than why even worry about the diff. drop?

Good luck with the alignment if you go bigger than 1.5 on the ball joint spacers.

I'd be interested !!! Where do you get the rear coil spring spacer ?
1" or 25 mm is great for the differtial drop. I've not done the ball joint spacers due to the cv shaft angle - even though I have manual hubs.
Now with the differtial spacer - I might just do this.

Cost ? I would use grade 8 hardware no matter what.

I'd end up making all of it, rear coil spacers, ball joints, and diff drop. Sdori says they have a patent pending on balljoint spacers, but that article shows obvious prior art so.... Not to bash them.

i second that. but i also don't see what the point is of you guys making the BJ spacers, if there are already proven bj spacers out there? probably just as expensive an they're actually machined.

but i would still like to know how he did the diff drop, becaue i always thought they were pretty much impossible on the 2nd gens.
