You should take a pic of your 4Runner from the side and front then print that on a label and affix it to the gauge. Then you could see how close your own vehicle is to rolling over...

^^^^ yes thats what i've been planning to do the whole time. hopefully i can get together with my friend today to do some photoshopping, but who knows, im kinda sick so it might not happen. and to answer the other guy's question, it only needs power for the light, it is done using wheights and gears. thats all.

My buddys old Dodge Raider had one built into the dash. It was pretty neat. It saved him a few times when he went off road.

He called it his "Tip-O-Meter".

not hard at all, 6 screws total. and all of the gears and stuff are self contained, so you don't have to worry about loosing parts or having them fall apart.

A+

Awsome KevyWevy, you have some real talent with photoshop. Maybe you or I or both could format this adventure into a Tech write-up. Looks Awsome.

KevyWevy

Just wondering, where have you decided to mount yours. If you need some tips I tried about 4 places before settling with top of dash, just left of center. Took a little work to get it to read right though.

im thinking in the cubby under my stereo, but that would involve taking the dash apart and sawing the cubby apart and stuff, and i don't know if i really wanna do that much.

Looks good guys much cheaper than paying $80-100 for a JDM toyota surf inclinometer with altimeter. This gives you a idea how the gauges look on a actual one.

This is one I found on ebay they appear almost every month on ebaymotors here is the link if anyone is interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting

ok, I'll ask again.

I am looking into getting one of these ( I can not afford a toyota one) and was wondering, are these jeep ones like old WWI gunnery Clinometers? Is it none powered for it to work? is it based on springs and weights? and the only power needed is for the light? or are there sensors that need powered?
Thanks,
Todd
