255/85/16's Help?

Okay, so without starting the narrower/wider is better thing, I've gat a question. Can I fit 255/85/16 BFG M/T's on my '98 SR5 without any sort of lift? I'm thinking not, but I'm curious. If not, would a 1.5 inch BL do the trick? I do wheel it some, so it will still need to flex and not rub.

I didn't even try Google. Oops. I just searched here, and didn't find anything conclusive. So, they hit the pinch weld area of a Tundra (bigger wheel wells than my 4runner), so BL it is. Will a 1.5" BL work? I'm not opposed to some pinch weld trimming, but only minor stuff.

FWIW I'm running 235/85/16 on my 97 with no lift, and it'll rub a very very tiny amount ont the front when turning and flexing. I think it would take a very minimal lift to fit the 255's. The 235 revo's measure bigger than other 235 as well, 32+ supposedly. I'd think an inch BL from 4crawler would be plenty.

I did it.

Some minor inner fender plastic trimming was required though.

I am running them with a 3" spacer lift, as well as the 99 4wd coils in the rear, and an adjustable trac bar from sonoran steel, with no rubbing. they are bigger than you think, they are taller than a 285 75 16.

There is a pretty good write up about this tire size at Expeditions West. If you want lift that will actually help do a 1" BL.
